DIPLO TUMMY ♨ Crispy Bacon Pancakes
I was inspired by an instagram photo of @janablanco of these bacon pancakes so today I made some using my cheat/treat-day Oscar Meyer bacon They cost an arm and a leg in Jakarta, but definitely worth it for an occasional weekend treat, because the local bacon tastes funny to me. See how simple it is to make after the jump!

Sometimes you just need fast food and I’m definitely not above a Mc Donalds double cheeseburger or gravy soaked KFC chicken breast (white meat lover!) but the choices are very few. The last time we were in Manila we had a crazy 2 week renovation/retouch schedule so we had to have fast food and I remembered reading about Bon Chon on Erica Paredes’ blog and twitter. We finally got to try it! Yay! I’m happy that there’s another fast-food option in Manila (and Jakarta!).

When I went back to Manila one of the things that we were looking forward to was eating at Pho Hoa. We miss Vietnamese food in Jakarta, and although there is good ol’ Vietopia, it’s not the same. Hi everyone. Sorry if I haven’t been posting much lately. I’ve been busy with a “consultancy” job lately and two weeks in the Philippines so I’ve had to put the blogging, DiploDesserts (I take orders for banana bread and tiramisu cupcakes), and DiploShop on hiatus. It’s only until the 23rd of July. So thank you for your patience and I’ll be on my normal schedule of at least 3 posts a week after then. For now I hope you enjoy these pictures of DiploDog with his new Azkals Jersey (the Azkals are the Philippine Men’s National Football team) that was a gift from Sir J and Ma’am T. Thank you so much for the thoughtful gift! Photos of DiploDog posing with his Azkals jersey after the jump!

My husband and I love Ismaya Restaurants so we were excited to find out about the soft opening of FOOK YEW Restaurant in Gandaria City Mall. Ismaya Group Restaurants are consistent: the food is good, the ambiance is amazing, there is bound to be english speaking staff and the interiors are always quirky and witty (LOVE the funny Chinese fortune cookie-style “wisdom” on the walls!). Pictures of my Fook Yew dinner with TD on their 3 day of operations.
