Trailing spouse blog
I started this blog to help me cope with moving abroad – leaving friends, family and a marketing career I was passionate about – to follow my husbands dreams. It is my way of remembering useful information and eye-opening experiences along the way. It has grown into a passion for sharing stories and inspiration and way to connect with like-minded people.
I continue to write about my personal experiences, home interiors, style and design inspirations, fabulous finds and practical tips as we move and travel around the world. As with everything in life, there are ups and downs and I try to stay true to my self and be honest about my feelings and reviews.
The Diplomat’s Wife
A funny thing happened when TD decided to become a diplomat. He had a different profession when we met and little did I know that he would make a decision that would change our lives forever. I had no idea what diplo life would be like, but I dove in headfirst anyway. Expat life changes you indelibly. We’ve experienced, grown and learned so much in the few years that we’ve been posted overseas.
I used to be an over-worked, obsessive marketing executive during the week and party-loving, beach-obsessed surfer on weekends. As a diplo trailing spouse, I learned to cook, entertain, decorate, design, DIY, love dogs, appreciate good food and garden. I’ve also learned a few phrases in different languages and other tricks to survive continuous travel and expat life without losing my mind haha!
