DIPLO TUMMY ♨ Easy-to-make Parmesan Puff Pastry Twists
We just had the last of our Drink-Our-Booze Parties last Saturday. It wast not only the perfect way to clear our liquor and say good-bye with a bang to our friends, but it was also a perfect way to clear the pantry. I really shouldn’t be cooking any more but there is still so much food so I did what I could with what I already had available. I made paella (using chorizo from Spain from my MIL), wild mushroom pasta using white truffle oil from Truffles & More Philippines, mangga’t bagoong to finish the Barrio Fiesta Bagoong we had (Thanks Bea!) and Parmesan Twists to finish of the puff pastry that I had in the freezer. Recipe after the jump!

We had some pancetta that needed cooking so I was looking for a recipe on Jamie Oliver’s 15 Minute Meals Recipe Book. He has an amazing recipe for an exotic pancake with maple glazed pancetta, but I didn’t have all the ingredients so I decided to go with the Old Fashioned Oatmeal Pancake recipe I already had, and top it with maple-glazed pancetta! The prospect excited me (we usually have Pukkolla for breakfast almost everyday) ! So I soaked the oatmeal in milk overnight. Super simple recipe after the jump!

Hi guys! I can’t believe it’s the holiday season again! I’ve been so utterly busy with making pretty accessories for my DiploShop, cooking, baking and going on my usual shopping rounds to take advantage of the end of season sales to get what I need and having my perpetual online garage sale. (I am a struggling minimalist – but obviously losing that battle so far hehe!) Anyway I just wanna share with you that I finally made lasagna for the first time! And IMHO it was pretty yummy for a first try! It helps to have a good authentic recipe to begin with, even if I kinda winged it on the Bolognese sauce. Read on…

My first attempt at dipping strawberries was unsuccessful. I didn’t dry them completely so it ended up sweating and kinda gross. After googling I finally found this useful webpage via the ever helpful Pinterest. Reposting the instructions after the jump.

DIPLO TUMMY ♨ Crispy Bacon Pancakes
I was inspired by an instagram photo of @janablanco of these bacon pancakes so today I made some using my cheat/treat-day Oscar Meyer bacon They cost an arm and a leg in Jakarta, but definitely worth it for an occasional weekend treat, because the local bacon tastes funny to me. I promised several people I would post this recipe on my blog so here it is. The concept was adapted from Sweet Tooth’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Cup recipe, however the recipe for the peanut butter mousse was adapted from Better Homes and Gardens, while the chocolate cup shell was from researching how to substitute real chocolate for chocolate melts (which I didn’t have). I made it simpler so I could use ingredients I already had.
