This is our favorite restaurant in Jakarta and is the one we frequent the most. It’s our favourite place for brunch (the eggs benedict are arguably the best in the city) and it is also a fail-proof place to take visitors from out of town, because there is something for every taste, the staff speaks English, [read more]

I am totally missing the Chinese food in Jakarta. Jakarta has a big Chinese community and I learned to really appreciate Chinese food when we were based there. One of the memorable Chinese food I had was from Soup Restaurant. All the dishes we ordered were delicious and I recommend them. I loved the sauce [read more]
When TD’s brother visited us in Jakarta, he was eager to finally cross something of his Bucket List: to try the Kopi Luwak (or Civet Cat poop coffee) which is the most expensive coffee in the world. Please forgive the photos since these were taken with a phone camera.
While we were based in Jakarta, TD coined the term “pork tourism”, because when we were deprived of pork in mostly Muslim Jakarta, we realised how much we loved and ate pork. When we would go on trips to Bali and Medan where there are many Hindus and Buddhist/Christians respectively, we went on Pork Tourism mode, [read more]
For golf-lovers out there who want to play golf while having drinks without having to go far, this restaurant is for you! The food is okay, and I liked their beer promos. I love the green interiors of the place and the use of beer bottles to decorate. Photos after the jump!
One of the things I’ll miss in Jakarta is my favorite fast food burger, the Mozza Burger from A&W. Whenever I need a quick bite to eat (so not a chillax Jakartan!) and there is an A&W around, I always order the same thing. The Mozza Burger Meal with curly fries and root beer. Find [read more]
Another Jakarta favorite of ours is Chung Gi Wa Korean BBQ restaurant. The ingredients are fresh and the quality of the food is amazing, especially for the price. This is also great for pork-lovers like us, because the pork meat is way cheaper than beef! It’s great to eat here in a group, because its [read more]
Another good ol’ faithful for us when we are craving for seafood is Pandan Seafood Restaurant. It’s not super cheap, but not that expensive either and the food is always good, and we tend to eat a lot of rice when we are here hehe. I like the interiors as well. Always perfect with seafood [read more]
I’ve written about Ramen Sanpachi or Ramen 38’s original location in Blok M which serves pork. We wanted to try their halal counterparts in the mall to see if it would be as yummy. This is a cheap eat in the mall, that is a better alternative to fast food burgers.
I have a new favorite brunch in Jakarta. It’s in my favorite Japanese Restaurant in town, Sekitei. Aside from the immense pleasure I get passing through the tree-line streets of Kebayoran Baru and going through the beautiful Dharmawangsa Hotel and Bimensena Club, high quality fresh Japanese food for Saturday brunch is just fabulous.
Go Curry is our go to restaurant whenever we are in Pacific Place Mall, Jakarta. It is serves my favorite curry dish ever! It’s a very small and casual restaurant but my favorite dish, Mildly Spicy + Japanese Brown Curry + Chicken Katsu + Cilantro Butter Rice, keeps me coming back!
Hello everyone! I am in the midst of a major move but I still wanna share some fabulous Jakarta/Indonesia finds, while I am at it! The posts might not be as text-heavy but hopefully the photos will entertain you! A friend of mine and fellow foodie, Emilie, recently took me to lunch and introduced me [read more]
I am happy to announce that the Bayanihan National Dance Company is here for a few days and you can see them and enjoy some Filipino dishes at Satoo Restaurant at the Shangri-La Hotel. More information after the jump!
While waiting in line for lobster at Loobie Lobster, we checked out a tuner tiny cupcake shop right beside it, called Mini Love Bites cakes and bakes. The place is super tiny but the interior details are quaint.
I stumbled upon the Lio Gallery, because of the 70% clearance sale banners that were on display for March. They have wonderful furniture and decor that can be expensive, but when they are on sale can be quite a steal. What surprised me most is the gorgeous cafe inside! Its just breathtaking!
Just came from dinner with Kaho at Koi Kemang. She invited me to an Appreciation Dinner for KOI Fans & Followers, wherein if you Like or Follow KOI, you get to have a fabulous 3-course meal for only IDR 100.000 (excluding drinks). What a neat idea and an amazing deal for KOI food! Thanks so much [read more]
This is one of our favorite cheap places to eat pork in Jakarta. Again this is nothing posh, its a hole in the wall where you are literally using one hand to eat and another to swat flies off. But the taste of the pork and dirt cheap prices keep us coming back.
On one of our first visits to Lippo Mall, we tried Kopi Kitchen which looked good on the outside. We were attracted to its lovely interiors.
There is a new, super cheap lobster place on Jalan Gunawarman right beside Turkuaz that always has a line of customers on Mondays and Tuesdays. They have a promo where you get TWO lobster and calamari platters with rice and drinks for only 90rb. Its nothing fancy and I would even call it a [read more]
Recently we had dinner again with the great Ambassador Nena Manalo. TD says she likes Japanese, Chinese and Italian so he chose Convivium Italian Restaurant. Some photos of the food and interiors and after the jump!
