DIPLO GEAR ♙ Cufflinks and cufflink box
I love that I’m married to a man who wears french cuffs and cufflinks daily. He’s always loved french cuffs, even before he entered into the diplomatic corps… and I totally love this about TD. They are just so much sexier than buttons. =P I love seeing him put on his cufflinks in the morning. So one of my gifts to him in the past has been his starter cufflinks box and some really quirky cufflinks from THE CUFFLINK STORE.

Sometimes I like to get TD little gifts. We are far from being a romantic couple, in fact we don’t even have an anniversary for getting together, we are both bad with dates (remembering birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) and we even don’t celebrate Valentines. Thank God we are alike in this way so no hard feelings. We do show our love in other ways. One of those things for me is getting gifts for no occasion (my best friends know that I don’t remember birthdays, but sometimes I just randomly give gifts… it’s my own way). One of things I love is getting us his and hers stuff. Last time I got us his and hers stainless steel key chains and hip flasks (matching but his is bigger than mine). Check out what I got this time!

Bearing gifts from Sri Lanka
Just wanna say thank you to my best friend, Mrs. O, for the pasalubong from Sri Lanka! Her husband came to Jakarta for a meeting and came bearing gifts. It’s customary for Filipinos to bring gifts when arriving from travel or visiting friends in other countries. We call such gifts pasalubong.

This is related to the visit of President Benigno S. Aquino during the last ASEAN summit. After he left my husband received some tokens from the office of the president. It’s nothing really but I love collecting souvenirs and scrap-booking… but… I am also trying not to let stuff pile up… so taking a picture and putting it on my blog is a great way to remember without becoming a pack rat =P This way I get to use stuff AND keep a souvenir!

Remember our secret compartment for charging station & storage (on top of TD’s shoe compartment in our mega-console)?
For Christmas I gave TD a universal charging station that fit perfectly in the hidden compartment! Here’s a picture of it in action!
You can see how awesome it is in the video below.
In fact, this BlueLounge product has won several international design awards. It’s not only functional (can charge up to 1500 different gadgets) but it also looks aesthetic!

My brother-in-law is an expert traveller (after all he had been a diplomat for much, much longer) and like him, I also have a thing for traveling with the right luggage, bags and travel paraphernalia. On his last visit he found out that it is nice to have snake skin and leather items made here in Jakarta. We met with this woman named Yully at my friend D’s place. D was nice enough to host a lunch for all her friends to come and see the different products. There were so many in so many different colors – bags, wallets, purses, clutches, shoes, etc.!

QUIRKS Novelties & Curiosities is one of my favorite stores in Manila. In fact I make sure to drop by their store whenever I am home! Here are some items I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to find underneath the Christmas tree! =)

I'd love to get 2 of these! This would be the perfect key chain. I'd place the socket by the door so I never have to go searching for my keys again.

If I got this Apron Guide, then I would never have to type on my laptop with sticky baking hands for conversions!
