My first TDW (The Diplomatic Wife) original artwork is finally hanging over our bed. I love waking up and seeing it above my head first thing in the morning. It’s simple, gold and white and is SO totally me! It adds to the warmth of our off white room, and in the morning it magnifies the feeling of the sun shining down on me through our massive bedroom windows! How I ended up doing it after the jump!

We attended an event last night at the Ambiente Restaurant at the Aryaduta Hotel. I loved the ambiance of the Italian resto & the art that was everywhere – on the walls, nooks & even hanging from the ceiling. I had a hard time choosing pics for this post, because I took so many. Our very first paintings + my badass staple gun

After a year of looking for art, and a wild goose chase for a “mythical” art gallery in Jogja, we finally had our Sutrisno paintings in hand at the airport on our way back to Jakarta. We hand-carried the small one in its frame & the bigger one rolled up, with the frame checked in. Why should I leave the bigger frame and pay someone to do it for me, when I can frame it myself?
