SANUR TRAVEL DIARIES ✈ Cafe Batu Jimbar
Another favorite breakfast place in Bali is also in Sanur. This was the last place we at in during our Sanur trip and boy what a way to cap off our trip! Everything we ordered was just heavenly! The ambiance was also truly inspiring. It was so nice to have a seat al fresco amidst the greenery and all the lovely textures, and just watch Sanur go by. I wanted the moment to last forever. Too bad we had to catch a flight right after. Enjoy the photoblog after the jump!

Writing about Bali on Currystrumpet’s Let’s Do Brunch, has made me miss doing my Travel Diaries posts. I suddenly remembered a memorable meal we had in July of 2011 at the absolutely stunning Conrad Hotel. The Eight Degrees South is their beach side restaurant, that is perfect for a romantic dinner date! I imagine it would be beautiful for lunch as well. I highly recommend it for a special evening (meaning: it’s a bit pricey, but definitely worth it!).
BALI TRAVEL DIARIES ✈ Gonta Ramen Bar
I am currently reminiscing about Ramen after my post on Ramen Sanpachi Blok M. In November 2011 in the sleepy, but relaxing part of Bali – SANUR – we found the best Ramen place I’ve encountered in Indonesia thanks to the recommendation of Travels with a Gourmet. It’s a small hole in the wall called Gonta Ramen Bar. Photos after the jump!

One of my favorite Indonesian finds is their amazing beauty secret… LULUR body scrub! It’s basically their local body scrub. I don’t recommend just any Lulur, since there are so many available in the supermarkets, drugstores, etc. When using the right brands, I can say that it’s the best body scrub I’ve ever had, even when compared to professional treatment, which usually irritate the heck out of my sensitive skin. My recos after the jump!

So I just wanna share with you my super pretty and unique oil burner from JENGGALA and their newsletter which announces that their online shop now delivers to the Philippines!

Someone mentioned to us that Flapjaks had yummy pancakes and since it was walking distance from our hotel in Sanur - AND we were ravenous after waking up late we decided to try it out.

On one trip to Bali we stayed in Sanur. Travels with a Gourmet recommended The Porch. It is the restaurant of Flashback’s Bungalows. All I can say it, OMG it’s always good to listen to Travels with a Gourmet recommendations! Pictures of the food, super cute retro interiors and menu after the jump!

When staying in Nusa Dua the outside world (like Seminyak) is not so accessible unless you have a car rental or travel about 30 minutes via taxi so I got to go around on foot a lot. Bali Collection is the nearest place to go for shopping and food. It’s a beautiful leisurely 10-15 minute walk from Marriott Courtyard. Photos of the walk and candlelit dinner at The Frangipani Bali after the jump!

One thing you can do if you are staying in the Nusa Dua area in Bali is to go cycling around. The area is safe, but if you’re not confident on a bicycle it can still be a bit scary because of the motorcycles and cars. Note that there are areas where you have to go up and down on a dirt path so consider walking your bike through these difficult paths if you’re not a strong biker. Despite having a bike that was way to0 big for me (it was challenging to stop!) I have no regrets spending the afternoon exploring, especially with the great photos I got! See em after the jump!
Read MoreNUSA DUA TRAVEL DIARIES ✈ Pica Tapas Bar at Bali Collection
If you find yourself in Bali Collection and you are looking for a place for beers or a place with a band, you can check out Pica Tapas Bar. It’s a lively place that serves seafood and grilled meats. I was surprised with the name because I usually associate “tapas” and “pica-pica” with Spanish food but this was a mediterranean + grill/BBQ place. We were so hungry and wanted a quick place to eat in Bai Collection (unfortunately our go-to0 Bali Collection resto was closed). My verdict after the jump!
Read MoreTRAVEL DIARIES ✈ Cheap Souvenir Shopping at Krisna Bali
For those of you looking for cheap souvenir in Bali, look no further! Krisna Oleh-Oleh Khas Bali is the place to go. You’ll find almost everything here in the convenience of a massive airconditioned store. Usually I like to haggle, but I find my inability to speak fluent Bahasa (with the correct accent) keeps me at a disadvantage in Bali. The price ends up higher because I am obviously a foreigner. So I actually prefer to shop in places like Krisna where the prices are fixed and lower than the more touristy markets.
