Renting in Jakarta was not easy for us. If you are coming to Jakarta as an expat and you have to look for your own place and negotiate with your landlord, without help from your company or embassy, you might encounter the same difficulties we had. Or you might not, I think it depends on what you are looking for and if you have a pet. This was our experience.

Another Jakarta favorite of ours is Chung Gi Wa Korean BBQ restaurant. The ingredients are fresh and the quality of the food is amazing, especially for the price. This is also great for pork-lovers like us, because the pork meat is way cheaper than beef! It’s great to eat here in a group, because its comes out cheap, even if you order beers. Ask the waitresses for what they recommend and they can help you out! The best thing is the staff cook the meat for you on your table. Service is fast and efficient. We found this antique gun in Kemang Timur in a shop called Rambuata (I pass by it on the way to (and near) Koncept Kemang and Lio Gallery. It’s a very small shop with furniture piled up, out front.

RESTO RAVE ❤ Pandan Bistro Seafood Restaurant
Another good ol’ faithful for us when we are craving for seafood is Pandan Seafood Restaurant. It’s not super cheap, but not that expensive either and the food is always good, and we tend to eat a lot of rice when we are here hehe. I like the interiors as well.

I’ve written about Ramen Sanpachi or Ramen 38′s original location in Blok M which serves pork. We wanted to try their halal counterparts in the mall to see if it would be as yummy. This is a cheap eat in the mall, that is a better alternative to fast food burgers.

I finally got some guest mattresses made! The best thing about them is that they fold, for easy storage when they are not in use! I got the idea from my friend Lia, who has a few for when her kids want to sleep in the room with them. I don’t know why I waited so long to have them made.
