DIPLO TUMMY ♨ Chocolate-dipped Strawberries
My first attempt at dipping strawberries was unsuccessful. I didn’t dry them completely so it ended up sweating and kinda gross. After googling I finally found this useful webpage via the ever helpful Pinterest. Reposting the instructions after the jump.

This is a continuation of yesterday’s post on the Tea Party with the Ladies that I hosted last week. After gorging on tons of food (some made by me and some graciously brought over by my lovely guests) we were ready to make the Molten Chocolate Nutella Pudding Cakes! Again thanks to Dona and Huma for letting me use the photos after the jump!

I’ve meant to use my precious stash of Graham crackers for a while now but I’ve found the thought of making cheesecake daunting. Until I found this No-bake Blueberry Cheesecake recipe from My Mom Friday. It seemed simple enough so I busted out the Graham Crackers and here’s how it turned out!

This is resto is so good, that even after I’ve written about it here and here, I wanna do another post on it. This time with photos from my DSLR. I feel like my previous posts didn’t do the food and the place justice! On my last Manila trip I ate at Cafe Juanita TWICE in a span of 3 days! (Unhealthy I know!) But I cannot be blamed… I haven’t been back in Manila since March 2011 and I am craving for Pinoy food like anything! Photos of Cafe Juanita at The Fort and the new incarnation of Cafe Juanita Kapitolyo after the jump!

Our friends tried this dessert bar before us and it’s been something we’ve taken guests to ever since. It’s nice to go as a group and try the different yummy desserts. The warm and inviting ambiance makes me think “chocolate.” Check out the photos after the jump.

The highlight of our trip to Ubud and stay in Gaya Fusion was Gaya Gelato. This place has to have the best Gelato I’ve ever tasted. I’m not really and ice cream or gelato person, but this is exceptional. Artisinal gelato made by italian couple Massimo and Colette who closed up their gelateria in Italy and brought their passion for gelato to Bali. The photos after the jump will make you drool!

Many people get shocked to hear that after 2 vacations in Bali I gained 3 frikkin’ Kg! But after seeing my posts on the food in Bali, especially all the yummy food we had at Gaya’s restaurant you will see why I found it in myself to stuff all that food down my tummy. It was just too good not to! =P

I promised several people I would post this recipe on my blog so here it is. The concept was adapted from Sweet Tooth’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Cup recipe, however the recipe for the peanut butter mousse was adapted from Better Homes and Gardens, while the chocolate cup shell was from researching how to substitute real chocolate for chocolate melts (which I didn’t have). I made it simpler so I could use ingredients I already had.

As promised, here’s the recipe for the apple crisp that was baking in the oven last weekend! I got this recipe from this AMAZING BOOK called MAD Hungry: Feeding Men & Boys. I first had this faux apple pie at my cousin’s home – his wife Jackie is an amazing cook! I also had rice crispy bars and banana bread there and I was asking her for the recipe. She said she got all the recipes from ONE book! Whoa. I had to have this book. It was too heavy for me to bring to Jakarta but when I looked around in the English bookstores here (yes not all bookstores have English books) I couldn’t find it! GASP!

After a morning at the gardening shop and the ceramic outlet store the girls and I deserved a treat! So we had lunch at KOI Kemang which is a favorite spot in Kemang. They are known for their Brunch menu (I personally prefer Social House for brunch) but we decided to try their regular lunch menu. All 3 of the girls ordered the Angus Roast Beef with Truffled Pudding which was excellent. I must bring TD (The Diplomat) here so he can try it! That Truffled pudding is amazing!

We were invited to Sunday lunch by Tita Noreen together with Ambeth Ocampo as the guest of honor. He is in Jakarta for a few months doing some research – lucky for us! I am thrilled he’s here. He is not only a famous historian and writer, he was also my professor in college – much feared for his surprise long tests! =P What makes Ambeth Ocampo interesting and current as a teacher and writer is his quest for the truth. He questioned things that we numbly absorbed and memorized from history books… Why do they depict our Katipuneros as dressed in white and red (moving targets) during the revolt? Why is Rizal depicted in a winter overcoat in our monument when we are a tropical country? (Yes I am re-reading “RIZAL WITHOUT THE OVERCOAT” and remembering my college years). He encourages curiosity and questions which make history much more interesting!
