DiploDog recovered + New Do & New Duds
DiploDog was recently sick. It was a hard few weeks but with constant care and a lot of pain on DiploDog’s end, he has finally recovered. I promise to be a better mommy and always make sure that his sac is expressed all the time. I brought him to the Vet to ensure that he was healing properly and when the vet said he was fully healed I got him a haircut, some treats and a new top to celebrate! =D

DiploDog is sick. If you don’t have a dog, I suggest you skip this post because I am mainly posting this for the information of dog owners out there who like us may not have known certain things about our pets. I hope you find this post informative. But for those who don’t have pets you might find the details too yucky. ;P

As requested by @migmol, here are pics of DiploDog enjoying the balcony breeze. While I am eating or working on our dining table, I notice that Diplo Dog enjoys sitting by our balcony, looking out and letting the breeze ruffle through his fur!

This is one of my favorite pics of Diplo Dog (taken by TD) in his classic "Good Boy" stance - which he does whenever you have food or he wants to be petted or let up on the bed =P Sigh. How can anyone resist that???
This is the story, as told to us by our maid when we got home for dinner today. I thought I’d have a heart attack when I heard it! The tension the suspense! She started with “Diplo Dog got lost for 3 hours today…” EGAD!
When TD and I left the apartment this morning, there was a bit of a confusion and Diplo Dog ended up escaping and running around our floor! After we chased him around (me, TD, maid and roaming guard) he was finally caught and the maid brought him in and TD and I proceeded to the elevator to get to the lobby.
Now this is when it gets funny/scary.

I was getting ready to go out one day and I was wondering where diplo dog was since he wasn’t in the room. He’s probably having an afternoon nap in “his room.” (We call the guest room/study his room because his favorite place to nap is underneath the pull-out.)
After a few minutes, I noticed something twitch on our bed…and guess what I saw???
Diplo Dog was right smack in the middle of our pillows! No wonder I didn’t see him at first glance around the room!!! LOL. He is not allowed on the bed because of my asthma and allergies, but he’s learned a nifty new trick of jumping onto the ottoman, then onto the bed.
How can I put him down??? He looked so cute and snug! (He loves nooks and crannies because he loves to snuggle and he really finds room corners to scootch into.) I didn’t have the heart to put him down especially after he have me his signature puppy-dog-eyes – or as our friend likes to call it his “Puss-in-Boots look.” LOL!

It really reminded me of "Where is Waldo" because he was camouflaged so well in the bed that if he didn't move a little I wouldn't have realized he was on the bed all along!

Diplo Dog caught in the act!
Whenever we give Diplodog a treat for good behavior, he takes it and runs off as fast as his paws can take him to hide (under the table/couch) and enjoy it. As if he is scared it will be taken away from him! LOL!

We changed up Diplodog's treats - his new treats are thin long piece instead of the thick round ones before...

They shaved my dog BALD! =(
Okay okay… Maybe I’m exaggerating a little, but the poor dog is PRACTICALLY BALD! We told the groomers he only needed a trim and even sent the maid so she could make sure. THIS is one of the hazards of the language barrier.
BEFORE
(Fluffy like any self-respecting Pomeranian)
AFTER
(Bald like a baby – somehow he looks naked. My poor baby!)
*Note: Poms are prized for their thick undercoat that let their hair stand out, but when you cut it, it sometimes does not grow back! Oh-no!!!

When I am in manila I also get the dog pasalubong (a present – usually given by one arriving from a trip). While I was hunting for a Christmas outfit in Tiendesitas (thanks to Poker Goddess for recommending it on my Lil’ Demoñito post!) I found this super cute top and just had to get it. Please note that this was in his hairier days.
I didn’t find a Santa suit because the only store that had them did not have them in the correct size, but I found the next best thing… SANTA BOOTIES!!! I’m sure he’ll be relieved because he wont get hot – but the problem is training him to walk in them. This is my first time to get him booties, but I’m afraid I don’t have the heart to train him. =(

The person in the pet shop said that it will take him only 30 mins to adjust to wearing them (Is this true?) but did not warn me that he will be walking like a horse in the process. I felt so bad for the poor dog that after 5 mins, I took them off! Anyone who's done this before have tips for me?
Reunited with my lil’ rascal
A week in Manila and I’m already missing…. my dog =P These are pictures of him when we got back from a trip 2 weeks ago.
He was just so so happy to see us! It was ADORABLE. I can’t wait to see those puppy-dog eyes when I get back…

I bought this while my hubby was away in some meeting in Vietnam a few weeks back. He wasn’t there to be my shopping conscience, but I was confident he would approve the purchase =P

A bit too preoccupied with his new dog food - he was so excited he pushed the bowl into the corner while he was devouring it!
Now Dog has a Halloween costume all ready for October! it was a bargain at 30,000 IDR!
What I’ve been looking for is a cheap but nice doggie santa costume! We saw one in FX Mall, Jakarta but it was expensive, not a steal like this devil one. I’ve been looking for it all over Manila too! Anyone know where I can get a doggie santa costume in Manila?
