And my favorite place to eat it in Jakarta is at Social House. We always get the same thing: Eggs Benedict & Old Time Favorites. Servings are massive so get ready to be REALLY FULL afterwards. Wear stretchy pants perhaps?

After the big lunch at Cafe Juanita and shopping at Market! Market! at The Fort, my mother-in-law and I were in the mood for something light. So we shared soup and a pizza at The Cafe Med in Rockwell. This is one of our all-time favorites, perfect for a quick bite while you’re in the mall. It’s not expensive but the quality of the food is good and the ingredients are fresh. We love their gyros, kofta dishes, soups and pizzas.

I was having lunch with my mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law (or Abuelita as we like to call her). Whenever we eat with Abuelita it is always the same place, Terry’s Selection (branches in Podium & Pasong Tamo Ext.) because Abuelita only eats Spanish food and lechon kawali. I wanted to think of some place new, but it had to have good Crispy Pata (which I am sure she will love as well) or she will end up eating only bread (gasp!).

After hours of shopping at the Big Outlet Sale at the Megatent, we were famished. We wanted to eat somewhere special for our friend, Mary’s birthday so we deferred to our foodie friend/budding food critic, Graey. She suggested Enderun’s Restaurant 101, but it was closed. That’s how we ended up in Cafe Juanita.

After the Kecak Dance we went back to Jimbaran bay, but this time to the southern cluster on Jalan Four Seasons. We came prepared, with a resto recommended by E (who’s practically indonesian) and instructions to order everything grilled. Best decision ever.

We were thrilled when our fabulous friend (we will call him Ted) told us that beside our hotel, The Harmony Seminyak, was a cheap resto where they have good PORK dishes. Maybe we’re just deprived of good pork in Jakarta, but the pork was sooo good at Delicious Onion.
