TRAVEL DIARIES ✈ Boracay Sunsets

TRAVEL DIARIES ✈ Boracay Sunsets

Just going through some old photos. I was recently asked, what are you lusting after right now? I would love a good ol’ beach vacation. I’d like to say somewhere fabulous, like the Maldives or Carribean. But to be honest I really just miss Boracay. Growing up having summers in the Southern Philippines and traveling with family from Luzon to Mindanao, my default vacation would always mean going to the beach – not just having a drink beside the beach, but really walking barefoot in the sand all day and jumping into warm, salty water, resto/bar hopping in bikinis, then jumping back in the water. Repeat. There was even a time when I would go surfing every other weekend in La Union.

PROUDLY FILIPINO ❂ Fino Leatherware 2

You would never believe what my most popular blog post is (most number of hits) – aside from “Sergio Ramos’ Girlfriend” that is. It’s my post on FINO leatherware! People from all over the world are searching for their website. Unfortunately they don’t have one. They have limited designs and quantities of their bags that are only sold in their Manila shops. FINO is on my must-visit-list every single time I go home. Every. Single. Time. So if you are going to Manila I highly recommend that you visit one of their shops. Locations & pictures of some more of my FINO Finds after the jump.

TRAVEL DIARIES ✈ My Manila Hitlist

TRAVEL DIARIES ✈ My Manila Hitlist

I am making this list for friends who are visiting or moving to Manila. If you are going to Manila to visit for a few days I hope this helps you decide where to go for shopping and where to eat. Manila is a great place for shopping. If you know where to look, it’s unbelievably cheap! There is also a lot of great food to be had. If you have more questions feel free to drop me a comment. I will be adding to this list as I think of more things. This is just off the top of my head. =)

DIPLO ENTERTAINING ♨ Serving Spoon Rest and Ladle Stand

DIPLO ENTERTAINING ♨ Serving Spoon Rest and Ladle Stand

One of the things I noticed in the recent dinner party we hosted was that I didn’t know where to place the serving spoons while the lids on the different dishes were on (to keep them warm). I remembered the super cute serving spoon rest that my best friend had for her rice paddle or rice scoop. What a practical idea! The serving spoon rest kept food off the table, while allowing her  to keep the rice covered so that it stays nice & piping hot (best way to have rice!).

Back from a really quick trip home

Back from a really quick trip home

Hi there! I am back from a super quick trip home! I’m enjoying the ginormous green mango my friend, Benj, gave us after our road trip to Batangas for a beach wedding. It’s grown in his own home, its organic and it’s as big as my face literally haha! (Click here to see proof!) Glad I bought some Bagoong (A Filipino shrimp paste condiment) in Manila to go with it. It’s how we traditionally eat green mangoes – the salty shrimps is the perfect contrast to the sour tangy taste of the mango! YUUUUUM!

I was getting hungry while waiting for our domestic flight to depart  in NAIA 3 so we went to the convenience store to buy a snack when these colorful mini-Jeepney carts caught my eye! To my delight they were selling yummy healthy Malunggay snack products! If you see these babies around Manila or anywhere in the Philippines, you should grab a bag!

RESTO RAVE ❤ Sentro 1771 Modern Filipino Restaurant

One of our go-to places for Pinoy (Filipino) food is Sentro. I love how they reinvent traditional Filipino dishes in a more contemporary way. Whenever I am back in Manila we usually go for the Boneless Crispy Trotter (Pata), Fried Kesong Puti (fried cheese) and Pinoy Osso Bucco! So just wanna share with you the photos of one of our wonderful meals at Sentro Filipino Restaurant!

HOLDING HANDS. More fun in the Philippines

I’ve always wanted to go parasailing with TD in Bora. It was the plan when we were in Boracay island in 2009 – except my husband and I both got sick. Blame it on exhaustion (having way too much fun)! So I’m totally loving this meme from Currystrumpet
